The department of Curriculum, Instruction, and Special Education at Mississippi State University offers a number of NCATE accredited Undergraduate Teacher Education Programs.

The Elementary Education undergraduate degree program offers two concentrations. Students can choose the middle school concentration, which leads to endorsement in elementary (grades K-6) and two middle school content areas. Students can also choose the early childhood concentration, which leads to endorsement in elementary (grades K-3 or K-6) and early childhood/preschool education (Nursery through grade 1), including early childhood special education.

The Secondary Education undergraduate degree program leads to endorsement in secondary teaching (grades 7-12) in a number of content areas, including biology, chemistry, English/language arts, mathematics, physics, and social studies. Secondary students can also choose a concentration in foreign language education, which leads to K-12 licensure.

The Special Education degree program prepares teachers to teach children and youth with developmental disabilities, learning disabilities, and other areas of exceptionality, and leads to endorsements in the area of specialty selected by the student.
